It easily accommodated a 30-pound dog along with two 11-pound and an 13-pound kitties - there was plenty of space left over for some shelter pets too!Now, about that washability factor: The base foam can indeed come apart, yet the "face" area remains intact, which is wonderful except for washing purposes since the washing machine size may pose a problem. Nonetheless, the entire setup was welcomed with open arms by all the family members - dogs included!

We have the 2XL model, a generous 4 feet x 3 feet oval shape. A noteworthy detail is the bolstering add-on. The actual orthopaedic layer is a few inches thick. Despite this, the bed remains incredibly comfortable, especially with our fluffy blankets. The dogs adore lounging on these plush bolsters. My aging friend really loves hers. She can easily maneuver across them and find comfort during nap time. Our younger chap enjoys playing with his toys here too. Perfect for boisterous and elderly pups alike. Seriously, even a Mastiff or medium breed could comfortably use this. My Catahoulas thoroughly endorse it!
